The Pre-Production meeting to create Ryan Reichenfeld.
Ryan Reichenfeld is a writer + director, based in Los Angeles.
Ryan Reichenfeld left home at 15 to become a professional skateboarder - a bold move that’s indicative of his tone as a director. His innate understanding of action, movement, and camera choreography is at the heart of his approach.
Ryan cut his teeth as an Editor and VFX Artist+Supervisor, collaborating directly with filmmakers like Spike Jonze, Michel Gondry, The Daniels, Hiro Murai, David Gelb, Nabil, Warren Fu, and Alma Har'el.
He rose as a director in the music video world, writing and directing music videos for Justin Timberlake, Imagine Dragons, Steve Martin (yes the comedian), Pusha-T, Sam Hunt, Steve Aoki, Lil Jon, and Grammy-winning artist RAC amongst others.
In the advertising space, he’s become known for his stylized approach to visual storytelling. His work finds the honest human moments, then uses camera choreography, blocking, and VFX to elevate them into cinematic spectacle. He loves playing with speed, camera movement, and performance to make a concept come alive.
His award winning short docs for SEAN and SKATEBOARDING IN OAKLAND, blur the lines between traditional non-fiction docs and stylized scripted narratives - winning awards at D&AD, Vimeo Staff Picks, Kinsale Sharks, and recently selling a non-scripted feature concept for development.
Other notable non-scripted projects include directing the entire first season of 5 MINUTES FROM HOME, the first show that launched Steph Curry's production company - Unanimous Media.
Ryan continues to create memorable work in the advertising space, and is currently writing/developing scripted projects for feature film and television.
