Ryan Reichenfeld is a writer-director, based in Los Angeles.

Ryan Reichenfeld left home at 15 to become a professional skateboarder - a bold move that informed his identity as a director. His mom is proud now. Took a minute.

As a director, action, movement, and camera choreography are hardwired into him: the visual instinct that drives his storytelling. His work exposes the unexpected heroes around us, and finds meaning in everyday places often overlooked. At the heart of it all, a human story.

He rose as a director in the music video world after cutting his teeth in editing and VFX, collaborating directly with filmmakers like Spike Jonze, Michel Gondry, The Daniels, Hiro Murai, David Gelb, Warren Fu, and Alma Har'el. He's written and directed music videos for Justin Timberlake, Imagine Dragons, Steve Martin (yes the comedian), Pusha-T, Sam Hunt, Steve Aoki, Lil Jon, and Grammy-winning artist RAC amongst others.

He's been trusted by the biggest agencies and brands in the world to bring their vision to life.

His introduction into the advertising world was his selection in the shots Evolution New Director's Showcase. Since then, he's partnered with agencies including TBWA\Chiat\Day, Digitas, BBH London, 180, North Kingdom, Grey, Vice, Imprint Projects, and Deutsch.  He's directed campaigns for brands like Nike, Adidas, Levi's, Facebook, Intel, Old Navy, Beats, Chobani, The US Olympic Committee, Robinson's, Jambox, Hornitos, Minute Maid, and Samsung amongst others.

His award winning short films SEAN and SKATEBOARDING IN OAKLAND blur the lines between traditional non-fiction and stylized narrative - winning awards at D&AD, Vimeo Staff Picks, and Kinsale Sharks.

He directed the entire first season of 5 MINUTES FROM HOME - the show that launched Steph Curry's production company, Unanimous Media.

Ryan continues to create memorable work across advertising and beyond. He’s developing scripted projects for feature film and television. He currently leads creative direction for KASSO’s U.S. launch - a Japanese skateboarding competition show and live event festival from the creators of American Ninja Warrior.

If you made it this far, we should probably make something together.
